June 20 ~ Longest Day
On almost the longest day of the year, the sun sinks behind the Gatineau Hills.
The river is peaceful and the sky soft and gentle behind the city of Gatineau.
June 19 ~ Red Poppies
Wile the orange poppies are prolific, the red ones are scarce, at least in our neighbourhood.
However, I noticed a lovely clump a few blocks away, and walked over to grab some shots.
They are magnificent flowers!

June 16 ~ A Bee!
Marty was enchanted with following the bees in our garden, so I took some photos of them at work.
I continue to be delighted with the quality of the shots that I get from my pocket-sized Point 'n Shoot.
It is a Canon S100 and two years old, but doing a great job!

June 11 ~ Dragon Boats
In the early morning light, the dragon boats at Mooney's Bay are peaceful,
awaiting the multitude of paddlers who will arrive in the evening,
to practice for the upcoming festival.
June 10 ~ A Plethra of Poppies
Once in full bloom, the poppies last only a few days, until a wind or a rain unhinges them.
But for those blooming days - magnificent!

Day 2 of the second annual 'Merrickville to Trevelyan Farm Ride'.
Day one was rain all the day!
Day two was dry, cool and with a head wind!
Fabulous fun, and thanks to our hosts, Tanya and John.

June 1 ~ Eagles
However, I have been watching this live web cam for about a month,
and should have shared it earlier.
The two chicks were fist-size when I started watching,
now they are crowding the parents out of the nest, and are starting to 'spread their wings'.
I hope to catch them in their first flights.
The nest is located around the corner from my brother's home in White Rock.
You can see them at hancockwildlife.org
